On the 5 February, 2013 The Minister for NSW Ageing and Disability Services The Hon. Andrew Constance MP, Fire and Rescue NSW Commissioner Greg Mullins AFSM, State Opposition lead John Robertson and Riverstone MP Kevin Conolly joined Opal Aged Care (formerly Domain Principal Group) Managing Director Gary Barnier for the sod breaking ceremony to mark the start of construction.
The new two storey 127 bed residential aged care facility will house 79 single bed rooms and 24 double bed rooms as well as a dedicated dementia wing for 16 residents. The $14M project will have the most advanced fire prevention devices in NSW and a memorial garden dedicated to the November 2011 fire’s victims.
